16. Each exposed person must be able to materialize their protection

In many lockout systems, each exposed person must be able to place their own padlock on a common device or a device provided for this purpose.

This ensures that no return to service will be possible until all those involved have removed their protection themselves.

Security should not depend solely on a third party. The personnel concerned must be able to materialize their own protection when exposed.
