In an industrial environment, it is common to think that if no alert is raised, then the situation is under control. The machines work, the teams intervene, the operations follow one another, and everything seems to be under control.

However, this perception is often misleading.

Over time, teams develop habits. Certain practices evolve, sometimes deviating slightly from the standards. Gaps gradually appear. They are not necessarily immediately visible, because they become “normal” in the eyes of those who work in this environment on a daily basis.

This is how deviations are born.

An audit exists precisely to counter this phenomenon. It allows you to take a step back, to observe reality as it is, and not as we think it is. It is used to highlight discrepancies, understand their causes and take action before an incident occurs.

An audit is therefore not a simple control.
It is a fundamental tool for control, prevention and improvement
